Feed Viewer is now a Windows 10 universal app
We published Feed Viewer for Windows 10 three days after the Windows Store was opened to app publishers. This was necessary because Windows 10 did not guarantee compatibility with Windows 8.1 applications. In the following weeks, we converged the Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows 8.1 user interfaces into a unified, responsive Windows 10 interface. This also means that swiping between articles is now available on tablet PCs as well. Developing a Windows Universal App requires having Windows 10 installed. We had to drop Windows Phone 7.1 support because Windows 10 does not support the Windows Phone 7.8 SDK. We also dropped Windows 8 support because Windows 8.1 was released two years ago, and the upgrade is free. Feed Viewer for Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 is still supported.
